OFG Goes...............National

A
vacuum has been created in recent years within the life insurance industry. The
decline of the career system [more than a 25% sales force drop over the past
decade according to LIMRA] has forced more agents to leave the insurance
industry or become independent. Why you ask and where’s the vacuum? Carriers
no longer wish to be in distribution. The buyer of life insurance is no longer
the customer in their view. Their customer today is the IMO—the Independent
Marketing Organization. Carrier support and guidance is lent at this level.
This shift to a “new” customer has left many agents without support—without a
home—and hence the vacuum. Insurance Only and Only Financial Group have long
been aware of this unfolding event and now move forward to capture a significant
share of this “traditional” market place with the launch of OFGNational.
OFGNational’s operation Director is Buster Shepherd. Buster is a former
Regional Vice President with AIG. During his long career with AIG he managed
the day-to-day operations of a 13 state area and was recognized for outstanding
growth and leadership. Under Buster's leadership OFGNational is already
off to an incredible start.
The timing is perfect to launch a traditional division within Insurance Only.
The needs are real, as described earlier, and many agents prefer to operate in
this market as opposed to direct response. The technology advances created for
direct responders work well in the traditional market niche also. Technology
and systems like agent websites, OFGezMailing, LeadBoss and others all assist
these agents in cross marketing and cross selling. Eventually Annuity, DI, LTC
and other lead types will be produced specifically for this market place as
well.
As
we looked at the future of Only Financial Group (our direct response division)
we could see a point when one day our direct response organizations enlisted the
aid of local OFGNational agents to complete selling transactions on advance
products that required face-to-face contact with the client. A simple term
policy sold years ago could lead to a large joint survivor, buy sell or life
settlement case that required contact from an OFGNational agent. One sale was
made in direct response fashion, the other in the traditional knee-to-knee way.
The client is given the best service and financial guidance, while both agents
share in the compensation for a job well done.
The timing is perfect for the dual growth of OFG and OFGNational. We offer both
opportunities to accommodate the selling style of any agent and for the rare
agent that sells in both niches. We have several on the team already. Whatever
your needs are, leads or no leads, sell by phone or sell face to face, advanced
markets or basic life OFG and OFGNational are there to help with sophisticated
new technology, top comp, training, support and all in a winning family
